I had an Asus laptop for several years and liked it. So it was natural for me to choose another Asus when that one needed replacing. Sadly I chose a model with serious design defects that make it almost unusable as a gaming computer. There are two USB ports for connecting a mouse, on the left side the port is out near the front, on the right it’s half way back. Now I don’t know how other people position their arms when using a laptop, but I keep my left arm near the left side of the keyboard, for easy and quick access to the W A S D keys, used constantly during gaming. Me being right handed, the mouse pad is positioned on the right hand side of the keyboard. Unfortunately, both USB port locations are constantly getting bumped by either my left arm as I W A S D key to maneuver during the game, or bumped by the mouse itself on the right as I use it. Each time, there is an annoying chime informing my that the mouse cable has lost its connection, the mouse stops working till I remove the cable then reconnect. As any computer user can understand, this is frustrating and ridiculous, especially in mid to high end “gaming computer” There is nothing wrong with the mouse USB fitting, it works fine on other computers where it’s not constantly being bumped. I like the feel of this laptop, it’s seems nice and solid. But, I am on the verge of sending it back. I would have already, but I am on a wireless phone Internet and have to pay for each gigabyte of download. Re downloading all my games onto another computer would use up all my monthly traffic allotment. So, be aware of this computers poor design. And, to the army of pacification drones that companies send out to say soothing but meaningless words to everyone who points out faults in their computers…Please don’t bother me with your useless responses, instead do something helpful…go to your design department and remind them of the high level engineering degrees they have and suggest they use them to make a comfortable and useable computer next time!
