the ASTRO city mini console is a 1/6 scale true reproduction of the original console. At the time of its release, the latter was the first one to be build using Resin. Like its old sister, the ASTRO city mini is also made of Resin and has the exact same design including the joystick and the buttons!
the ASTRO city mini has 36 classic arcade SEGA games pre-installed, including the 720p-hd version of virtual Fighter. It also includes a fantastic title never publicly released before in the game centers and mainly known by experts: dottori kun. Raising the total to 37 games to discover or rediscover!

When you think SEGA arcades, you think Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Rad Mobil, Wonderboy… and they play so nicely with this device. The joystick is damn good and the buttons are very responsive microswitches despite their size… Really I can’t fault the controls, works great for me and in my experience the controls ruin a lot of these style devices. The one thing that annoyed me a bit is the vertical scrolling games…. why bother! – they’ve released a vertical version as well, but rather than having unplayable vertical games, we should have gotten a few more horizontal games, a couple more horiz shooters perhaps. But a couple of bad game choices does not ruin this device at all, it’s very fun, very very nicely built, actually playable (just lower your seat!), and has a good stack of good games to actually make it worthwhile to retro fans. Is it £100 worth of fun?, well yes to me it is – but I collect these things, they’re really for SEGA fans, retro gamers and collectors – with these devices, playability is actually the bonus, and this has tons of playability. There are far better options for introducing the family to arcade games… this is one for GenX gamers and I think most might like it.

The good: Authentic design and great build quality. Fantastic feeling and responsive controls. Clear bright screen and surprisingly good sound. Clear crisp output to external display via hdmi. Outstanding emulation of some classic Sega arcade games. Two player possible via USB ports.The bad: 4:3 image on a wide-screen. Scan line filter not great. No battery option. Games list lacking some obvious and big games, (Out Run, After Burner, Hang On, Power Drift to name a few).The Ugly: Seriously locked down USB ports only supporting official controllers. (Highly recommend Mayflash Magic NS2 to bypass this issue and use your favourite wired or wireless controller)

For the first time there is a Arcade Perfect port of Virtua Fighter and its AMAZING!Th system is easy to setup and use and even though the joystick is small its still very usable.Highly Recommended!

Veramente ben fatta.Il joypad a microswitch è preciso e assomiglia molto a quelli originali.Schermo bellissimo.Non grandissimo ma neanche piccolo.Tutti giochi con rom originale emulato perfettamente.Suono impeccabile.Sembrava un po’ caro ma li vale veramente.

Una máquina arcade mini con la calidad SEGA
Una máquina arcade de SEGA, a escala reducida, con los juegos de las recreativas de nuestra infancia. La calidad de los materiales es muy alta. Pantalla nítida y clara. Funciona perfectamente. La botonera tiene un tacto muy agradable. Ah! Y es compatible con el mando de la Mega Drive mini (en mi caso, tengo la versión de Asia de la Mega Drive mini, la que lleva el mando de 6 botones de origen y funciona perfectamente en la Sega Astro, funcionan los 6 botones, vaya). Un diez por SEGA!
